Fashion and Fun after Fifty

Goodwill Saturday Sale

Posted on: July 29, 2013

Hello Friends and Happy Monday, I trust you all had a wonderful weekend!

If you read my post on Saturday you know I went to Goodwill for their annual 50% off sale and it was like a department store’s Grand Opening.  The place was PACKED, there were long lines waiting for the dressing rooms, people pushing full carts of clothing, laughter and excitement when new items with tags were found and clerks rolling out full racks every 5 minutes, it was an amazing sight to see.  Although I had only planned to go to Middletown, I kinda sorta wished I had also driven down to Smyrna and Dover.

I did however go with the purpose of getting an “I Love Thrifting” t-shirt, which Goodwill introduced earlier this month for $12.00.  I have never ever purchased an item at Goodwill for that much, but the $12 cost for t-shirt is supporting a worthy cause and I am a proud Goodwill VIP who loves to thrift!

I was also intent on finding clothing for the Fall because I have more than enough shorts, tanks and skirts for the summer season which is rapidly coming to an end.  I thrifted a dress, 2 tops, a pair of culottes and two maxi skirts all for under $14.00 – #winning

I am doing the thrifty dance for you right now….

“Do a little dance…sing a little song…get down tonight!”

Wow! You can do some serious scoring!!!

Thanks, those skirts were the best find.

I pretty much only shop at Goodwill for my clothes. Right now I’m waiting until I’ve dropped a few more sizes for my next run. How I decide when to shop – when even a belt won’t hold up my pants! LOL

oh, that is too funny, I love thrifting because when my weight fluctuates, I’ll donate what doesn’t fit and buy replacements!!!

Love Goodwill! Especially when they have 50% off! You found some great stuff!

Thank you, I was hopping around to the other blogs and see a lot of the ladies have little ones which brought back so many memories – lol My youngest is 17, so it was fun reminiscing! Thank you and have a blessed week!

Love your shirt and the cause! 🙂

Thanks, yes, GW does a lot for the communities. Have a fantastical night!

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I love finding good deals, too. I really like the Casual Corner wrap dress!

Thank you looking forward to reading more.

Hey girl! I personally love shopping at thrift stores. I started shopping there when I was pregnant. I didn’t see the point in spending mall prices for clothes at Motherhood Maternity if I didn’t need to. I found some great staple items in there so I was beyond excited. I’m definitely a thrifter after that! Looks like you got some great finds I see. Thank you for linking up with Mommy Monday. I enjoyed reading your post! Have a wonderful week! ❤

Yes, especially while pregnant, doesn’t make sense to spend a lot and then end up donating the clothes anyway – that’s the perfect time to upcycle. Thanks for stopping by and commenting and I am wishing you a fantabulous week as well.
