OOTD – Turnaround Thursday

on:Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!
When I saw this top at Goodwill I knew I had to get it because of all the colors, it would work with almost anything in my closet. There was just one slight problem…it’s very low cut in the front and I knew hubby would not let me out of the house in it.
It just hung in my closet…that was until yesterday after reading a post by a fellow blogger, Jean of all Trades…I am now wearing it backwards!!!
I am glad that I kept the shirt but more importantly, I am thankful for bloggers who come up with great ways to re-fashion clothing and jewelry! This necklace was a $1.00 find at the Flea Market and I used nail polish to give the stones some color.

Remember those cute kids from the ’90’s group, Kriss Kross, they wore their clothes backwards too – everything old is new again!

on:Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday
Being the sleepy head that I am, getting up every week day at 6 am definitely does not give me a thrill. However, once I’m up and moving the situation greatly improves especially when I see God’s Glory. Waking up to a beautiful day provides the motivation to have a prosperous one and I hope it’s the same for you.
The rays of sunshine across the frost covered grass gave me pause to stop and say, “Thank you God for another beautiful day”!

on:Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!!!!!
This week really flew by and there’s definitely a chill in the air – “it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” – are you getting excited? I don’t have any major plans for the weekend and since my sons are older I don’t have to stress about the holidays but I do want to make a Gingerbread house.
Tomorrow night I may walk around the neighborhood taking pics of the pretty houses or perhaps just sit on the sofa watching movies drinking Egg Nog. What are your plans for the weekend?

OOTD – HAPPY FRI-YAY!

on:Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
I hope your day is going well and that plans for the weekend are in full gear – enjoy! My mother-in-law is doing well and I thank you for all your prayers. Tonight the boys and I will be visiting taking a small table-top Christmas Tree to brighten up the room and raise her spirits. All week I have been psyching myself up to start decorating and have decided that tomorrow is the day, oh Lord. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t like decorating for the holidays, it just getting motivated to start because I HAVE TOO DAMN MUCH. If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen pics of just a few bins of Christmas decorations that are in my basement’s crawlspace. When my sons were younger, they were all gung-ho and couldn’t wait to help – now it’s like pulling teeth and hubby is a Muslim so he only helps to put the boxes away, the majority of the work falls on me. The older I get the more I understand why people paid others to decorate their homes, remember this episode from “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”?
It’s not as cold as I expected but there’s a cold rain falling so I bundled up with a scarf for casual Friday.

FRI-YAY ~~ FRI-YAY
I kept with my black and white theme this week but added a splash of green for casual Friday. I can’t believe that this is the last weekend in July, summer is just flying by and soon the weather will be cooler and long pants will be the norm. These long pants have been in my closet for several years, they can be cinched on the side or folded to look like capris. I’ve worn them with heels and boots but today I am wearing these comfy neon green and white sandals. I hope you all have a fan-tab-u-lous weekend!
