It’s finally Friday and the heat is on!
I am so ready for the weekend and tomorrow’s plans include clearing out my little garden because the mint has taken over! I want to add some basil, peppers and tomatos and get a few flowering baskets to hang around the deck.
It’s time to fire up the grill and spend evenings sitting outside, I love this time of the year!
What are your plans for the weekend?

OOTD – Sunny Monday

on:Hello Friends and Happy Monday.
I hope you had a nice weekend and are starting off your work week in a positive, stress free way! This morning standing on a sunny deck I couldn’t help but think of Spring with the forecast of temps to rise above 56 degrees by the end of the week. I am however, not naive to think that we won’t be hit with snow and this deck will be covered before the end of February!
On Friday I stopped at GW Boutique (Goodwill) and thrifted a few items all for $3.75, including this sleeveless, black and white tank. It was new, with the tags from Marshall’s still attached. Goodwill is also getting bougie because some of their tags read “Goodwill Boutique”!
Sleeveless Tank and Red Skirt – GW Boutique // Cardigan Sweater and Shoes – Ross // Statement Necklace – New York & Company

on:Hello Friends and Happy Election Day 2012
The weekend was great and yesterday seemed to fly by so I didn’t get a chance to post Monday’s Outfit of the Day. I am still praying for those affected by Hurricane Sandy as the temps are dropping with another storm predicted for tomorrow.
Yesterday was sunny but cold so I briefly ran out onto the back deck so my son could get these shots. He starts working on the 14th so I need to learn how to use the tripod and timer on my camera – that is going to be fun.
Skirt – Goodwill// Top – Ross// Chinese Laundry Pumps – DSW
Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!

RESTORE Deck Kit – PASS

on:REPOSTING FROM LAST YEAR – THE DECK STILL LOOKS GOOD AFTER 1 SEASON!
A few weeks ago we purchased Deck RESTORE from Home Depot because it was time to start the outdoor projects and staining the deck was #1 on my list. In all honesty, I don’t like using stain because it’s messy, time consuming and never seems to last long enough for me. Staining usually highlights the imperfections of the wood, however, this product although a bit pricey hid the imperfections, wasn’t messy or time consuming, I just hope it lasts longer than 2 seasons!
My OOTD was thrifted from my oldest son’s closet – he put the tshirt and shorts in the box slated for a Goodwill donation – lol
We purchased the 5 gallon container (cheaper than the kit which contained only 2 gallons and a roller)
a Restore Roller; we had a pan and brush in the garage.
The color is Adobe
Because the product was sitting in the garage for 2 weeks, I had my son do a little “remixing”
Swept the deck to remove dust and debris
It wasn’t necessary to Power Wash the deck, so just used ammonia and water to clean off surface dirt
The lid was very easy to open once the plastic tab was removed.
I thought I would need pliers which is why they are pictured in the tray above.
Very easy pour – thick consistency
Roll the 1st coat and allow to dry at least 3 hours – it took me a little over an hour to complete.
I went grocery shopping and did the 2nd coat the next evening after work.
After the 2nd coat
From this …
To this!
The best part was the easy cleanup with just plain water – definitely beats staining any day!
