Weekend of Decorating
Posted December 9, 2012
on:Hello friends and Happy Sunday, I hope you had a fantastical weekend. Mine was spent decorating with still more to do because I HAVE TOO DAMN MUCH! I have decorations that are 25 years old from stores no longer in existence, remember ‘Caldor’? My son didn’t want to use all the decorations which was fine with me, and we didn’t put the ornaments on the tree because I want to do that with both sons. It’s always fun to unpack the ornaments they made in Elementary school, or the special Hallmark ones that I gave them as kids. We will do that together next weekend and maybe even make a Gingerbread House afterwards – yea right- those days are gone forever.
In the boxes are also many memories – I still have the stockings for my sister and grandmother.

OOTD – HAPPY FRI-YAY!

on:Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
I hope your day is going well and that plans for the weekend are in full gear – enjoy! My mother-in-law is doing well and I thank you for all your prayers. Tonight the boys and I will be visiting taking a small table-top Christmas Tree to brighten up the room and raise her spirits. All week I have been psyching myself up to start decorating and have decided that tomorrow is the day, oh Lord. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t like decorating for the holidays, it just getting motivated to start because I HAVE TOO DAMN MUCH. If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen pics of just a few bins of Christmas decorations that are in my basement’s crawlspace. When my sons were younger, they were all gung-ho and couldn’t wait to help – now it’s like pulling teeth and hubby is a Muslim so he only helps to put the boxes away, the majority of the work falls on me. The older I get the more I understand why people paid others to decorate their homes, remember this episode from “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”?
It’s not as cold as I expected but there’s a cold rain falling so I bundled up with a scarf for casual Friday.
