Vacation Day in May
Posted May 30, 2013
on:Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!
Today was a fantastic day, this morning it was sunny with temps in the high 80’s and I was on vacation hanging with my oldest son. There were a few things that we needed to get done including him renewing his driver’s license. I can’t believe it’s been 4 years already and next month he’ll be celebrating his 21st birthday – God is Good!
All that closet cleaning Saturday and I could not find one pair of decent shorts…oh well, time to hit up GW Boutique this weekend! I decided to wear an old pair of capris instead of a sundress and found them to be just as comfortable.
What are you most comfortable in during the heat of the summer?
Top (old) Avon // Sandals – Rugged Wearhouse
Multitasking as usual with mobile and iPad
Glasgow County Park was filled with walkers and joggers but I was just there for the scenery
Changed into flats from DSW
Gazebo in Glasgow
After a doc appointment I stopped in at Rugged Wearhouse and saw some of the cutest purses, but resisted the urge to make a purchase! It was a good vacation day in May.
Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!
OOTD – Polka Dot Thursday
Posted July 19, 2012
on:Thursday is the horizon to the weekend…it’s all downhill from here. Today is gloomy and overcast after last evening’s showers and thunderstorms that broke the heatwave. My goal this week was to wear a dress a day and barring any major downpours tomorrow I will have succeeded. I remember when girls/women only wore dresses and in Junior High I would hide pants under my skirts because my grandmother didn’t allow us to wear them. My sister and I had a job at Arthur Treachers Fish & Chips and we had to ask permission from our Pastor to wear the uniform because it had pants. Now here it is 37 years later and I prefer to wear dresses on the daily and hubby seems to enjoy it as well (side eye wink wink).
This Polka Dot dress was featured in my June post, here, but I decided to mix the polka dots with my green, patterned wedges from Ross.
OOTD – Mixing Patterns

on:Good Tuesday morning, the 2nd day of the 3rd heat wave of the year, so stay cool and hydrated and if you know any elderly please check in on them. Today I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to mix patterns but only with the shoes. At first I was a little uneasy but it doesn’t look that bad, so next time I may try mixing other wardrobe pieces.

OOTD – Cool Cotton Thursday

on:Last week’s heat wave officially ended on Monday with temps only reaching 89 degrees, but today it’s expected to be 92 or higher. Last week my outfits were shorts, tanks and bathing suits but that’s not going to fly at work, so cotton is the perfect fabric to keep me cool in this weather. The sleeveless cotton shirt and skirt were thrifted from two different Goodwill stores earlier in the season.

Memorial Day 2012
Posted May 28, 2012
on:I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day Holiday weekend, the unofficial start of summer 2012. My men and I had a nice weekend and I spent most of my time outdoors working in the yard and opening the pool. The temperature was in the low 90’s and I didn’t realize how intense the sun was nor did I see the poison ivy intertwined in the tree branches that I cut. Despite the results of these two oversights I had a great time grilling and spending time outdoors which for me is always relaxing.
It is now tIme to get my mind right in preparation for another short work week which is always more hectic than a regular 5-day week!
