OOTD – Gazebo in Glasgow
Posted March 9, 2013
on:Hello Friends, I hope you had a wonderful Saturday!
The weather here was absolutely GORGEOUS and like almost everyone else in town we spent most of the day outdoors. My son and I had a few errands to run which included a stop at Rugged Wearhouse in Glasgow. There’s a gazebo behind one of the medical centers with a lake (and a Home Depot) in the background which made for a good spot to take pictures.

OOTD – March One

on:Hello Friends and Happy Fri-YAY!
The first day of March…another day the Lord hath made…the first weekend of the month…it’s all good in the neighborhood!
Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend? Me not so much, going to Home Depot or Lowes with hubby in search of a replacement kitchen sink faucet, (finally stopping a water leak), then doing our income taxes – Woohoo lucky lucky me!
Well at least I had fun yesterday at The Money School’s Awards Luncheon where I met some great people including Governor Markell. The Money School provides some wonderful free programs in the state and it was nice to see them recognize people who help in this effort, I can’t wait to post the details.
Earlier in the day my son and I drove into town to his orthodontic’s office.
Worthington high waist skirt was purchased from JC Penny on clearance for $5.00!
Cardigan and Shoes – Ross / Top – GW Boutique (Goodwill)

Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!
RESTORE Deck Kit – PASS

on:REPOSTING FROM LAST YEAR – THE DECK STILL LOOKS GOOD AFTER 1 SEASON!
A few weeks ago we purchased Deck RESTORE from Home Depot because it was time to start the outdoor projects and staining the deck was #1 on my list. In all honesty, I don’t like using stain because it’s messy, time consuming and never seems to last long enough for me. Staining usually highlights the imperfections of the wood, however, this product although a bit pricey hid the imperfections, wasn’t messy or time consuming, I just hope it lasts longer than 2 seasons!
My OOTD was thrifted from my oldest son’s closet – he put the tshirt and shorts in the box slated for a Goodwill donation – lol
We purchased the 5 gallon container (cheaper than the kit which contained only 2 gallons and a roller)
a Restore Roller; we had a pan and brush in the garage.
The color is Adobe
Because the product was sitting in the garage for 2 weeks, I had my son do a little “remixing”
Swept the deck to remove dust and debris
It wasn’t necessary to Power Wash the deck, so just used ammonia and water to clean off surface dirt
The lid was very easy to open once the plastic tab was removed.
I thought I would need pliers which is why they are pictured in the tray above.
Very easy pour – thick consistency
Roll the 1st coat and allow to dry at least 3 hours – it took me a little over an hour to complete.
I went grocery shopping and did the 2nd coat the next evening after work.
After the 2nd coat
From this …
To this!
The best part was the easy cleanup with just plain water – definitely beats staining any day!
Home Depot – “Black Friday” Sale
Posted March 31, 2012
on:Spring Break is right around the corner and my family and I are anxious to get outdoors to start our annual Spring Projects. I had a 10% off total purchase coupon, so hubby, my #2 son and I headed to The Home Depot for their “Black Friday” sale.
These indoor plants are so colorful!
Deck chairs, fire pits and heaters
Bounty Paper Towels, 6 Rolls – $4.88
For each bag of Scott’s Turf Builder you get a free gallon of Ortho Weed-B-Gon
Limit 2 and our savings was $25.48
My project will be to stain the deck, and we found this new product called Restore on sale for $39, marked down from $49. Based on the measurements of our deck it was cheaper to get the 5 gallon bucket for $78.00.
#2 son was our designated driver both to Home Depot as well as loading and navigating the cart inside.
Before we checked out, my radar picked up on a small clearance section where I got 48 oz bottle of Pine Sol for $2.00
Can you smell the Bar-B-Que?
Need to stay cool during the heat of the summer?
For this price I wanted to buy this ladder but didn’t have a need for it so it stayed there!
And don’t forget to check your receipt to enter for a Chance to Win a $5000 Gift Card!
