Dollar Tree Deals
Posted October 8, 2012
on:Dollar Tree is now accepting manufacturer’s coupons which makes a lot of items FREE! I had a $1.00 off coupon for the Pepperidge Farms Jingos and they are awesome. I also have coupons for Campbell soup but around the holidays it’s cheaper at the grocery stores.

OOTD – Tuesday Then & Now
Posted October 2, 2012
on:Hello friends and Happy Tuesday. Today’s outfit is a dress that was previously worn in August, also on a Tuesday (here). Transitioning it from summer to autumn by adding a faux leather jacket and peep toe shoes replaced with leather pumps. The jacket was thrifted from Goodwill and the pumps are Carlos Santana, which I didn’t realize when I found them at The Salvation Army. These pumps are classic, timeless and very comfortable.
If you follow me on Instagram (ablake48) you know that I’m participating in #pinkfor31days, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are wearing pink nail polish for the month of October and I started with Revlon’s Fuchsia Fever. I’ve lost 2 cousins and an aunt to this deadly disease and have 5 cousins who are breast cancer survivors. A co-worker is now fighting her second bout after being in remission for over 10 years! If you are over 40 and haven’t scheduled your annual mammogram yet, please do so today, I’m scheduled for next week.
Have a fantabulous day and don’t forget to schedule your mammogram appointment – Smooches!
OOTD – Layering Leaves
Posted August 30, 2012
on:Today is my “YAY-DAY” because tomorrow I’m off for a stay-ca-day to start the long Labor Day holiday weekend. Today’s outfit is layered like the leaves on the lawn …. don’t go summer…please stay a wee bit longer (wiping away tears). Not ready to put away the summer wear so I covered this spaghetti strap maxi with a front zip vest thrifted from Goodwill, accented with a red belt from Ross. Popping more of the red with earrings inherited from my lil sis who passed away in 1992, a bracelet from MizOutlet.com and covered one stone in my ring with red nail polish. The polish is easily removed for a change of color to accent another outfit. I thought about wearing red shoes but decided on these black and white stripped wedges from Marshalls.

OOTD – Hubby’s 2nd Chance
Posted August 8, 2012
on:Hubby was a bit more awake this morning so I gave him a second chance and with a little editing using Pixlr and PicMonkey today’s pics are better. The dog days of summer are winding down but the heat remains so today’s outfit is cool and comfortable for “Hump Day Wednesday” I had to alter the neckline of this thrifted dress with a few stitches because it was cut very low, however, it’s still a very feminine look. The rhinestone embellished sandals were purchased two years ago and are extremely comfortable and goes well with this dress. I am allowing my nails to breathe for the rest of the week so I am sans polish on my fingers and toes.

Nailwear At fiveBelow
Posted August 3, 2012
on:If you ever shopped at a five Below you’d know that in addition to the toys, school supplies, candy, plastic wear, swimwear, iPhone/laptop/computer accessories, blah blah blah blah blah, they also carry nailwear and cosmetics on the cheap. I stopped in last evening and picked up a few items to add to my already excessive nail polish collection! Unfortunately, my nails were weaken by a Gel manicure done at a salon so I have been doing my own and I like the new colors and products currently on the market. fiveBelow also carries a brand of the Magnetic nail polish which I would like to try, but they only had one bottle and it was a color that I didn’t particularly like so I’ll check another store over the weekend.
Sally Hansen HD Hi Def Nailwear – $2.00
Sally Hansen Salon Effects – $3.00
Nutra Nail Gel Manicure Kit – $5.00
By the way, check out my cousin’s nails, these are short considering what they once were a few years ago!
