Goodwill Saturday Sale
Posted July 29, 2013
on:Hello Friends and Happy Monday, I trust you all had a wonderful weekend!
If you read my post on Saturday you know I went to Goodwill for their annual 50% off sale and it was like a department store’s Grand Opening. The place was PACKED, there were long lines waiting for the dressing rooms, people pushing full carts of clothing, laughter and excitement when new items with tags were found and clerks rolling out full racks every 5 minutes, it was an amazing sight to see. Although I had only planned to go to Middletown, I kinda sorta wished I had also driven down to Smyrna and Dover.
I did however go with the purpose of getting an “I Love Thrifting” t-shirt, which Goodwill introduced earlier this month for $12.00. I have never ever purchased an item at Goodwill for that much, but the $12 cost for t-shirt is supporting a worthy cause and I am a proud Goodwill VIP who loves to thrift!
I was also intent on finding clothing for the Fall because I have more than enough shorts, tanks and skirts for the summer season which is rapidly coming to an end. I thrifted a dress, 2 tops, a pair of culottes and two maxi skirts all for under $14.00 – #winning
I can’t wait for the next big sale and if you are not a Goodwill VIP, it’s free to sign up and you’ll receive emails with dates for these events.

Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!
This morning I woke up blessed but stressed which is not the norm for me. Before driving into work I stopped at Middletown Car Care to check on the status of “Miranda”, Tayair’s old car. We took it in last week for a diagnosis to determine if is was worth having it serviced and then given to Malik or not serviced and left on the lot to be sold. I don’t like being stressed or carrying a burden so I am going to relax, take a deep breath, exhale and then release it into the atmosphere.
Friday Eve and it’s not very Springy, it’s overcast and cloudy, a “jeans and t-shirt” type of day, but since I can’t wear that to work it’s a “two-tone dress” type of day.
Dress – Ross// Animal Print Peep Toe Shoes – Charmingly Linda’s Consignment Shop
These legs really need some sun!
Earrings were a gift from an IBM manager that I supported in 1983!
Necklace was purchased from Flea Market vendor and then I used nail polish to add color to the stones

OOTD – Let it Snow!
Posted November 7, 2012
on:Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday. The weather forecast for this afternoon and evening is high winds mixed with a dusting of snow. Instead of the dress I had prepared to wear I chose to be uber comfortable in a pair of pants and flats. These blue wing tips were purchased in the early 2000’s and are the most comfortable loafers that I’ve ever owned. Blue side zipper pants paired with a long sleeve t-shirt in honor of President Obama’s reelection makes my casual outfit for the day.
I hope the snow holds off long enough for me to get into the state of Delaware because I hate driving in bad weather especially in the dark.
Have a fantabulous afternoon – Smooches!
Rugged Wearhouse Fall Fashions

As with most stores, the fall fashions were in stock well before Labor Day to capture the back to school crowd as well as the excitement of updating our fall wardrobes. Rugged Wearhouse is a clothing store that has really stepped up their game. I remember years ago this store carried mainly jeans and t-shirts for young adults and school age kids, and although this is still their primary target the selection of women’s wear has greatly improved. To further entice the more mature buyer they recently introduced a Rewards Program. When you sign up online you will receive a card which is presented at checkout. The reward is $5.00 off your next purchase if you spend at least $25.00.
On this trip I did spend more than $25.00, and here are the items that I purchased.
Price point for these tops starts at $7.99
Price point for these dresses start at $12.99
Shoes are a hit or miss, depending on when they get a shipment, I saw several pairs of boots but wanted to wait because I couldn’t remember what I already had in my closet. I did however, get these purple ones because I knew I didn’t have any in this color and I liked the funky heels!
Shoe price point varies, these were $9.99
Accessories galore starting as low as $.99 cents.
I purchased 2 necklaces for $1.49, a pair of earrings and bracelets for $3.99 each.
Scarves and purses start at $4.99
OOTD – No Fireworks Fourth
Posted July 10, 2012
on:This was the 1st year that we didn’t pile into the car to go see the annual 4th of July Fireworks in Middletown. We usually leave home at dusk to drive to Friendly’s where we parked, ate ice cream and oooh and aaahed at the sky being lit up by fireworks a few miles away. There were 2 reasons for not going this year, the most important one being that Friendly’s caught fire the week before and burned to the ground and secondly, we just didn’t feel like going, we’ve seen enough fireworks at Disney to last a lifetime.
However, in keeping with some traditions Tayair and I wore RED, WHITE & BLUE, and Malik wore a T-Shirt in memory of Andre Smith the HS Football Player killed in a car accident over Spring Break. I did watch some of the Macy’s fireworks on TV and oooh and aaah at their sky being lit up without having to fight traffic to get home.
