From the bright blooms at Michael’s at 40% off…

…to the dresses at Ross Dress for Less starting at $14.99

…and the $20 off $50 purchase sale at Woman Within

Now that the weather is starting to warm, soon it will be time to change out my wardrobe. In my closet I have a lot of blazers, most of them purchased from Goodwill earlier in the year. There are several good reasons to buy from Goodwill, not only are your purchases helping others with job training and employment but when you no longer want or need an item you can re-donate it and get a tax deduction.
Most of these blazers were $3.75 or less and are labeled, Jones New York, Leslie Fay, Talbots, Kasper, Areo and Bergdorf Goodman

My weekend visit to Goodwill in Middletown cost me $20.25, I am hunting for a jean vest that I didn’t find I did however, find a few other things.

Long jean skirt with split up the sides – $3.75 and a pair of new white heels – $4.00

Black Skirt – $5.00

New Worthington Black and Grey wool skirt – $3.75

Men’s vests for my son – $3.75 each

I went to Kmart to get a coffee maker, I really just needed a new carafe for my Cuisinart, thanks to my son who broke it on President’s Day. Sometimes it’s cheaper to buy a new coffee maker plus I didn’t feel like driving to Bed Bath and Beyond without a coupon. Anywho, as I walked around I noticed their normal clearance rack and was immediately drawn to the cosmetics. I am always looking for a good concealer, I have yet to find one that truly banishes the dark under-eye circles. There were bins of Almay, Revlon, Wet n Wild and other name brand cosmetics for .50 each, I was running late so I only got these few items.

If I had more time, I would have been gone through these with a fine tooth comb!

The Fragrance Gift Sets are on sale for $4.00, these can be used for travel or placed in a basket in your guest bathroom/bedroom for visitors. The Cosmetic Gift Sets are also $4 and they would make nice gifts for teenage girls, or as additions to your own stock.

Yesterday while checking Facebook I saw Charmingly Linda’s had posted a coupon, $5.00 off a $30.00 purchase, good until Saturday. I decided to run down and check out the deals and not only was I able to use the coupon, but all of my items were 50% off! The consignment shop is located at 480 Lancaster Ave., Frazer, PA, 610-640-1220.

This color-blocked bag will be perfect to carry to church with a LBD – $4.50

Mid-calf, comfortable Spring/Summer dress to wear to work or out shopping on the weekend – $6.00

I have a red, sleeveless blouse that I got from Goodwill but it’s a little tight around the bust, so this is a perfect replacement – $4.00

I love the colors in this vest and it can be worn with anything, jeans, pants, or skirt with a skinny belt – $4.00

Finally, I am not sure what drew me to this jacket, but I love the look and feel of this “biker” jacket – $6.00

Here I am in the jacket after it was washed on delicate cycle.

I had to make a return to Boscov’s yesterday, I told Malik the shoe bag wouldn’t work in his “doorless” closet…but did he listen …no! Anywho, as I was making the return I noticed this display of Wicker Baskets for $1.99 each and of course my mind began thinking of several storage uses: In the bathroom/powder room: hair clips, cotton balls, Q-Tips, makeup, hand towels, makeup, perfume, guest towels, potpourri. In the kitchen: tea bags, napkins, vitamin bottles, seasoning package’s, etc., In the bedroom: bracelets, rings, pins, remote control, potpourri, small toys, etc. In the office: paper clips, pens, post it notes, desk drawer organizers. The baskets can also be spray painted to match the decor of any room.

I stopped at Food Lion on the way home for a few things but I am always searching for new dinner ideas, we have eaten so much chicken that I’m afraid one day we’ll sprout feathers! As usual Food Lion had quite a few specials including in the produce section. I picked up bell peppers and onions, as well as a package of ground turkey also on sale, I will check for a Stuffed Peppers recipe to use this week.

Also on sale were the Uncle Ben’s Rice in the small, microwavable containers which are a perfect size for my NutriSystem program. $1.00 each, coupon was $1.00 off 2 ~ with coupon .50 cents each

I always check the beauty section for sales and close outs and was able to use my $1.00 off coupons for Garnier Fructis shampoos and conditioners on sale for $2.99 each ~ with coupons $1.99 each

At the register I was asked if I’d like to donate $1.00, for Easter Seals which is a charity that is near and dear to my heart so of course I said, “yes”. For the donation I was given a pamphlet which contained $9.50, worth of coupons one of which was $1.00, off the Oreo Cookies I had in just purchased – BINGO more savings ~ who said, “no good deed goes unrewarded”? ~ with coupon $1.99
